In compliance with Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), the comprehensive training and curriculum consist of 105 hours of training including:

  • In a classroom setting, students learn the aspects of patient care with a focus on introductory concepts, patient care safety, providing care, special care situations, professional and career development. (30 hours)

  • Under the leadership of a clinical instructor, through in-person practice students learn resident care procedures (RCPs) such as personal care (bathing, grooming, feeding), positioning and transferring the patient, and using various tools to take vital signs. (43 hours)

  • This component of the clinical training places students to work directly with residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
